Drive-bys

Have I mentioned how much I HATE being hit w/ a drive-by phone call?

You get all happy to talk to someone, they drop a bomb about something in their life, and then they're gone. What's up with that? It sucks. No discussion, very few details, and then the person has something better to do than to talk to me.

Usually, it's nothing big going on, it's a "hi" phone call. Sometimes, you're told that the person doesn't have much time, but it's not a guarantee that you're blessed with this information. The person asks what's going on in your life, you finally begin to say something, and then you get cut off b/ the person has to go do whatever. Did you really want to know? Why did you even ask if you didn't want to talk?? Were you just being polite? I dunno.

Cell phones are evil. Phone conversations used to be so much better when the only access to a phone was at home when you were done doing things.
