Hospital Again

Mom was admitted to the hospital last night. She's in isolation, which she loves b/ she doesn't have any annoying roommates or nurses, but I think it's bad b/ she gets lonely and more stir-crazy that way. She was admitted b/ her postassium is waay too low and b/of the fluid that's building around her heart again. She's on IV postassium and super diuretics (sp??) until further notice. I don't know when she'll get out.

It seems to me that the doctors have to figure something out this time. If a side effect of taking the "water pills" is that you get rid of too much potassium, then why weren't they watching her level before these last two weeks? And, what's the deal with all the fluid she's retaining anyway? Why can't they figure out why her body can't get rid of it correctly? They suspected a lymphatic system problem, but I haven't heard anything since the last time she was majorly hospitalized. If they can't fix her lungs, can't they take care of this endless cyclical problem?
