The Azores Reunion

This past Saturday, May 7th, was a reunion (of sorts) for the Toste family. The event was for people from Phillip's dad's village. I stuck with Phillip and his family, but the aunts and uncles were mingling with the other families at the event. It was held on private property owned by someone's friend. It had a ticket booth, a chapel, and a bullfight ring, along with support buildings. We used the red barn for the pot luck lunch. In the picture of Phillip's aunts, uncles, and Grandpa in front of the red barn, you see Tia Luisa in the background jumping around. There's a whole series of pictures w/ her back there! :>) We played with Paula's children and their cousins (Phillip's second cousins??). Tia Luisa got out the art supplies and a few people painted. The majority of the event people went in, like, 7 trucks to go up the dirt road to look at the cows and bulls. Phillip and I stayed in the shade "at camp" with Tia and chatted and drank beer (of the two tasted, I liked the one that Phillip didn't). It was a fairly calm and relaxing day.
